RUBY'S TOP TIPS: KEEPING YOUR NYE GLOW ALIVE INTO THE EARLY HOURS

When it comes to makeup, I typically embrace the "less is more" philosophy, but for special occasions, it's essential to include additional steps to ensure your makeup lasts as long as you do!

Include a primer into your routine, applying after skincare and before base products. This step helps your makeup grip to the skin. Milk and Urban Decay are personal favourites.

Focus on layering and blending. Gradually build up your look by layering a powder over creams to set everything in place. I combine Ruby Hammer Cheek Colour in red with Nars Blush in red or orgasm. For the eyes, VB Eye Colour creams with Makeup By Mario Ethereal Eyeshadows.

For long-lasting eyeshadow, apply it over an eye pencil, pressing it in place with either a brush or your fingers.

The same principle applies to lip color—use a long-lasting Lip Pencil underneath Lip Colour.

For day-long (and night-long) events, translucent powder is a must, even if you're not typically a fan. Gently sweep it across areas of the face prone to makeup shifting. Translucent powder absorbs excess oils and moisture, preventing makeup from sliding off or appearing shiny.

End with a fixing spray, and keep a Magnetic Brush Set in your bag for touch ups throughout the night. The precision heads work wonders for fixing smudged makeup, and the tapered head is perfect for blending out edges and softening creases.
