RUBY REVEALS | Beauty Starts From Within
We spend so much time talking about what we put on our skin, but some of the most transformative beauty habits begin long before we reach for skincare or makeup.
After more than four decades working in beauty, I've learned that glowing skin, healthy hair and a sense of vitality rarely come from one miracle product. They're usually the result of small, consistent rituals that support your wellbeing from within.
While I firmly believe in great skincare and makeup, I also believe that how we nourish ourselves plays an important role in how we look and feel. Here are a few of the wellness habits I've returned to time and time again.
HYDRATION IS YOUR FOUNDATION
When clients ask me for the secret to fresher-looking skin, they often expect an expensive solution. My answer is usually much simpler: drink more water.
Hydration affects so many aspects of how we feel and how our skin appears. When we're dehydrated, skin can look dull, makeup can sit less beautifully and we often feel more tired than we realise.
I try to make hydration a non-negotiable part of my day, whether that's starting the morning with a large glass of water or carrying a bottle with me when I'm travelling.
Of course, hydration doesn't stop at what we drink. Supporting the skin barrier externally is equally important. I always recommend choosing products that help maintain moisture levels and keep skin feeling comfortable throughout the day.
LOOK AFTER YOUR GUT
Increasingly, we're learning just how connected our overall wellbeing is. For me, feeling good starts with looking after the foundations, from hydration and balanced nutrition to supporting gut health.
DON'T UNDERESTIMATE VITAMINS
Both Vitamin C and Vitamin D are ingredients that have earned their place in beauty conversations.
Vitamin C has long been associated with healthy skin and overall wellbeing, while Vitamin D is something many of us (particularly in the UK!) can benefit from being mindful of throughout the year.
The products I personally use are Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C and BetterYou Vitamin D3 + K2 Oral Spray. I love that they're easy to incorporate into my day and fit seamlessly into a consistent wellness routine.

THE CONVERSATION AROUND COLLAGEN
Collagen is one of the most talked-about topics in wellness, and with good reason. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less collagen, which is why supporting our overall wellbeing becomes increasingly important. My favourite is Ancient + Brave True Collagen.
PROTECT YOUR ENERGY
Beauty isn't just about what you add, it's also about what you protect. Sleep, rest and recovery are essential parts of that equation.
In an always-on world, it's easy to wear busyness as a badge of honour, but I've found that taking time to recharge pays dividends in how I look, feel and show up day to day. A good night's sleep can do wonders for your mood, your energy and even how your makeup sits the following morning. I incorporate a handful of supplements into my routine that support this, including Magnesium and CoQ10.
As we move through different stages of life, supporting our changing needs becomes increasingly important, too. Lumity's Women's 24-Hour Menopause Supplement is one of the wellness products I've discovered that focuses on supporting energy, focus and overall wellbeing as part of a broader self-care routine.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
My beauty philosophy has always been about enhancing rather than disguising. A few carefully chosen essentials can help you look polished without ever feeling overdone. What I always encourage is consistency. Whether it's skincare, supplements or self-care rituals, it's the small things we do regularly that tend to make the biggest difference over time.
