RUBY’S LIP TIPS | NOURISH, REPAIR, PROTECT
As the weather shifts, we all know what that means for our lips… Cooler air and low humidity strip away our skin’s hydration, leaving lips dry, tight, and prone to cracking. What can we do to prevent this?
NOURISH
LIP SERUM BALMS
Our Lip Serum Balms are packed with nourishing ingredients that moisturise, create a protective barrier, and keep lips smooth and soft, whatever the weather.
Hero Ingredients:
- Meadowfoam Seed Oil – A lightweight yet powerful hydrator that locks in moisture, preventing dryness throughout the day.
- Cocoa Butter – Rich in fatty acids, it melts into the lips to condition and repair rough or chapped skin.
- Sativa Seed Oil – Known to relieve inflammation, this botanical oil soothes and softens, making it ideal for sensitive or dry lips.
Our balms aren’t just a quick fix - they deliver lasting hydration, with the added bonus of colour. The perfect combination of colour and care.
HYDRATION
Unlike the rest of our skin, our lips don’t have oil glands, meaning they don’t retain moisture. Therefore, staying hydrated is key to preventing dry lips. As well as applying a lip balm or serum throughout the day, it’s really important to hydrate from the inside, and drink a lot of water.
REPAIR
Dry, flaky lips need more than balm alone. A gentle lip scrub, or even a homemade mixture of sugar and honey, used once or twice a week helps rub away any dead skin so your balm can hydrate more effectively. This also creates a soft, smooth base for any pigmented product you might use (lipstick, gloss, etc..).
If you have very dry lips, try a richer, thicker overnight lip mask to hydrate and repair whilst you sleep.
PROTECT
The same way we layer up to protect ourselves from the elements, we should do the same for our skin and lips. Even in the colder months, use a balm with SPF to protect against UV damage. Also try and avoid habits such as touching and licking your lips - we often don’t notice ourselves doing it, but it actually makes dryness worse.
