Cloud Skin

Cloud skin makeup is having its moment, but what is it? And how do you achieve it?

Coined by the wonderful Dominic Skinner, Cloud Skin is editorial style skin, lightweight, soft and fluffy without being dewy. Matte but glowing. Healthy radiant skin that is created with the less is more approach.

GET THE LOOK
I am huge advocate for strategically camouflaging blemishes with concealer, rather than applying one thick layer of base make up – which not everybody needs. I use the Fine Liner and Tapered Brush Heads from my MAGNETIC BRUSH SETS to precise apply, before tapping in with my fingers to blend.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage and Nars Radiant Creamy or Soft Matte Concealers tend to be my concealers of choice, both being easy to blend and in a wide variety of shades.

Using a precision FACE BRUSH, lightly whisk translucent powder over the concealer using micro-layers to set without leaving your skin looking flat.

Finish with a hint of blusher to instantly brighten your face. Start by applying to the apples of the cheeks then work upwards and outwards. Remember less is more, slowly building up thin layers until you achieve the level of flush you like. Finish with a little across the nose for a healthy, flushed look.

Much more than a TikTok trend, this lighter-weight, natural finish is perfect for summer, with less layers there is less makeup to shift around in the heat.
