RUBY REVEALS | TIPS TO ACHIEVE 'LESS IS MORE' LOOK
I've always felt that less is more when it comes to makeup. For me, it's about enhancing your features rather than trying to mask them.
Here are some of my favourite tricks to help master this look:
- To achieve a glowy no makeup, makeup look you have to start with skincare. Cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate and protect using products suited to your skin type. Take the time to study your face, learn your skin type, is it oily, dry? Assess your skin each morning, some days might require less prep than others.
- Use a light coverage foundation or tinted moisturiser, and spot-conceal only where needed. You don't want something that is thick, uncomfortable or feels unnatural on your face. What you're aiming to achieve here is an even skin tone, that is smooth & polished. Always start with less, as you can always add more. Set your base with a thin sweep of loose powder, ensuring to use it sparingly.
- Tidy your brows using a spoolie & clear brow gel. Eyebrows really are the frame to your face, so it's important to find the size and shape that suits you. Brushing your eyebrows up gives a much more open and clear expression, so a quick brush & sweep of eyebrow gel is enough to open up your face.
- Finish with a light sweep of mascara to open the eyes and lift your lashes. For me, I feel a thin coat of mascara livens and brings out my features. A brown mascara gives more of a softer, more natural look, whereas black is slightly more dramatic.
Remember, the key is to enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up!
